Ways to Fundraise for Lifecentre

There are so many ways to raise awareness and funds for Lifecentre! Here are some of our favourite ideas. Do let us know if you are planning a fundraising activity and we’ll help in any way we can! Contact us at: jenny@lifecentre.uk.com

  • Get local artists, art groups, Guides/Scout groups and schools to produce art work; set up an exhibition; invite the local community in; provide drinks and cakes and even live music. You could also sell artwork if the contributors are willing!

  • Get people to donate promises – a car wash, a day of gardening help, a free haircut, dog-walking for a week; then auction off the promises to the highest bidder!

  • Next November, why not host your own Bonfire Night party complete with Bonfire, fireworks and plenty of marshmallows to roast? Do be very careful when around fire and fireworks and ensure you have the space to do this safely.

  • Are you a budding musician? Busking in the streets can bring in lots of donations. Just make sure you have the right permissions from your local authority, make a sign and get playing!

  • A firm favourite for many, cake sales are always popular! Why not set one up in your church, school or office?

  • Gather your volunteers, ensure you have plenty of soapy water and sponges and get washing. Charge a fee for each car cleaned.

  • Know a group of great singers? Get everyone in the Christmas spirit and ensure you have donation buckets at the ready. You may need to check what permissions you need from your local authority.

  • Another Christmassy one! Design, make and sell your own Christmas cards and donate the profits to Lifecentre.

  • Have a spare money jar, or even just a plastic bottle? Collect all your spare change, then once it’s full, donate this money to Lifecentre via JustGiving!

  • Get a group of your friends together and take turns to host a dinner party complete with entertainment!

  • Hire a hall, find some willing musicians, actors, dancers, magicians, comedians, singers and more, and put on a great show! Charge for tickets and you could even sell sweets and popcorn during the show.

  • Celebrating a birthday, wedding or anniversary? Why not ask for donations instead of gifts this year and raise much needed money for Lifecentre!

  • Hide lots and lots and lots of eggs around a local hall, church or public space; charge a small fee to enter and see how many eggs can be found!

  • Hire a space, grab a DVD player, projector or large screen and lots of comfy chairs and host your own film night! Charge an entry fee and sell popcorn, pick and mix sweets and drinks for during the film.

  • Set up a donation jar in your home or office and set fines for yourself, your family or even your work colleagues. Fines could include not turning the lights off, swearing, hitting or playing on your phone!

  • Host a charity football match or tournament, charging teams to enter and spectators for viewing.

  • Invite your friends round for a fun evening packed full of Monopoly, Cluedo, Pictionary, Twister, Ludo, Operation, card games, Trivial Pursuit and any other games you have lying around!

  • Have an X-Box, Play Station or other gaming console? Challenge yourself to play for a set amount of time and get people to sponsor you! Make sure you have plenty of drinks, snacks and allow for toilet breaks.

  • Why not challenge yourself to give something up in aid of a great cause? Give up alcohol, smoking, snacking, fizzy drinks or Netflix and get people to sponsor you!

  • Challenge your friends to some simple guessing games: How many sweets are in the jar? How much does the cake weigh? Guess the name of the Teddy. Charge an entry fee and the winner could take home the sweets or cake!

  • Raising money for Lifecentre is a great opportunity to get your friends together, eat some cake, provide tea and coffee and have a good catch up! Tell them about Lifecentre’s work and ask for a donation towards our work.

  • One man’s junk is another man’s treasure! Why not collect up all your old, unwanted toys, clothes, games, shoes etc. and set up your very own jumble sale, with proceeds going to Lifecentre.

  • Get your gloves and bin bags at the ready and collect litter from around your local area. Get people to sponsor you and take a donation bucket whilst you’re out! This is a great way to tidy up your neighbourhood whilst raising money.

  • There are so many things that you could make and sell for charity: jewellery, clothes, toys, ornaments, food, gifts and more!

  • Volunteer to do odd-jobs around your neighbourhood, family and friends and ask for a donation in return – you could try gardening, babysitting, dog-walking, DIY, running errands or washing cars.

  • Raise free donations when you shop online with EasyFundraising!

  • Host a pamper day for all your friends and ask for donations for Lifecentre! Provide foot baths, nail painting, hair-styling and more!

  • Gather some teams and host a quiz night! Hire a hall or try contacting a local pub to host the evening. Contact us (jenny@lifecentre.uk.com) and we can help you put your quiz together!

  • An old classic but still very popular. Contact local businesses to donate goods and services then raffle them off! This works especially well as part of a bigger event.

  • From textiles to electronics, there are many places that will pay a donation for the old goods that you give them.

  • If you want to make a bold statement, why not shave your head for Lifecentre? You could also change this up to wax your legs or dye your hair a funny colour. People will pay good money to watch and you can also ask for people to sponsor you.

  • Gather vouchers, and good quality products; create bidding sheets and invite people in to start bidding against each other. Try to get local businesses and organisations to donate the items.

  • Test your fitness and take on a new challenge. Get people to sponsor you for completing the challenge and then get training!

  • A popular event for summer, get your whole neighbourhood involved in a fun event for all ages. Set up a BBQ, bring along cakes and drinks and run some games!

  • Any big event involving lots of different teams, e.g. World Cup, Eurovision, is the perfect opportunity to run a sweepstake. Charge a small fee to enter, distribute the teams. The winner will receive half the money donated whilst the rest can be donated to Lifecentre.

  • Create a treasure hunt around your local area – this could involve answering questions, taking photos or gathering items. Charge a fee to enter and reward the winner with a prize!

  • Bulk buy a variety of sweets and small tubs, set up your stall and get selling! Make sure you have permission depending on where you want to run your stall.

  • Set up your very own restaurant, decorate with candles and flowers and serve a three course meal. Ask “customers” to donate how much they would have spent on meal out to Lifecentre.

  • Raising money at work can be a fantastic way to raise awareness and have fun together. Take breakfast and coffee orders and set up your own snack trolley, have a dress down day, a Christmas jumper day or run an office Olympics!
