  • Introducing Kathryn, Lifecentre’s Chief Executive

Dear friends and supporters,

I would like to introduce myself as the new chief executive officer of Lifecentre. I have always been passionate about supporting people who have experienced great trauma or adversity and helping them move towards better lives. I feel like I am returning to where my journey first began as I starting working on Lifecentre’s helpline in 2001, when the charity was founded.

Since then, I have been working for the probation service, delivering and overseeing services for people in the community and prison, to help them in their journey to rehabilitation.

I feel very privileged to be re-joining the professional and committed team at Lifecentre. I have been struck in my first few weeks firstly by the quality of service that our team of counsellors provides and also by the generosity of the many individuals, trusts and foundations who support our work.

It’s estimated that one in four women and one in eight men have experienced some kind of unwanted sexual experience; it is a big issue in the UK and in West Sussex. We are seeing a huge growth in our referrals and I am committed to doing all I can to respond to this need. Thank you for your continued support of our work.

Kathryn Slatter
