Rape or sexual abuse impacts people physically, psychologically, emotionally and spiritually. Our trauma-informed therapy covers all four of these bases. But, crucially, you take the lead. We listen to your needs and tailor our programmes around your unique priorities and goals.
1. Take the first step
Download and fill out our referral form. Once completed, please email your referral form through to lifecentre.uk@nhs.net we will process your application and get back to you as soon as possible.
Are you an agency or service referring on the behalf of a client? Please use this form.
2. Start the conversation
Attend an initial assessment with one of our trauma-informed therapists. They will work with you to decide which support service is the best fit and which topic areas you would like to focus on. At this point, there is a chance you will be directed towards our helplines. But, in the likely instance that trauma-informed therapy is appropriate, you will be asked to sign an agreement contract.
3. Receive our support weekly
Attend up to 18 sessions with one of our therapists. Sessions typically last one hour. They are available on a weekly basis and can be hosted in person (in Chichester, Worthing or Crawley) or remotely (via Zoom or over the phone). If you are a friend, relative or close supporter of a sexual abuse survivor, you can also benefit from up to 10 sessions with us.
Should this trauma-informed therapy precede a trial in court we will tailor our support accordingly. Please see our pre-trial therapy leaflet for more details.
4. Donate if you can
Consider making a voluntary donation towards the costs of your trauma-informed therapy and help us keep waiting times to a minimum for other survivors like you. There is no obligation to pay, so you are still welcome to access the service if you know you will be unable to donate.
If you can’t afford to make a monetary donation but would like to contribute to our cause, please see our ‘Fundraising’ section.
